It’s a Colorful Life Home Tour (Holiday Edition)

Happy Tuesday! Welcome to It’s a Colorful Life Home Tour (Holiday Edition). If you’ve come over from Serene.and.Co blog I’m so happy to have you here. Welcome to my home! This is my second year participating in Jennifer from Dimples and Tangles Home Holiday Tour. Did you see her home yesterday? I am always so inspired by her colorful creativity!

Do you rearrange your furniture for your Christmas tree? I do. This tree has been in many spaces. This years location maybe my favorite. I positioned it in the corner of the living room, beside my huge abstract painting. The painting and my blue and white collection of vases and jars inspired the tree. The tree is full of blue, red, pink, copper, and green. I used ornaments, and more ornaments, faux flowers and holly leaves, butterflies and lots of ribbon on this tree. I was going with the theme "more is more".

The tree is definitely the center piece of the room. So I decided to keep it simple throughout the rest of the room. I hung a wreath on the window and threw a Merry Christmas pillow on the couch.

The sideboard and mirror are decked out in a faux garland full of red velvet ribbon and pink plaid dupioni silk ribbon. The large vases on the wall have petite wreath necklaces around their necks. Simple but merry and bright.

I carried all the same colors into the hallway and stairs. I said it last year and I'll ay it again this year, the garland is my colorful interpretation of the wall mural done by my friend Jenny Westenhofer. Those flowers have come to life and are growing up my stairs in forms of ornaments, ribbon and greenery.

The dining room is bursting with blueberries. This is one of my favorite spaces in the house and I definitely wanted to compliment my blue and white collection. I think the coral and light blue ribbon give it just the extra pop of color.

Right off the Dining Room is our sunroom. The only decoration in this room is a 3 ft tree in a large chinoiserie pot full of blue and white teacups as ornaments.

That is about the end of the tour for the first floor. On to the second....

Well, to be honest, its a very quick tour of the second floor. This is the only room decorated. This is my daughters room, it is whimsical and fun. I saw only fit to put a tree full of snowmen, butterflies and colorful ball ornaments.

I hope you have enjoyed the tour of my home, and have a very Merry Christmas! Here are a few more photos before you leave.

*There is an amazing line up of bloggers on this tour.

You and I would enjoy a cup of tea together. My recently remodeled/redecorated home is so me: maximalist, romantic, elegant and whimsical. I rewallpapered EVERY room in my fav soft pinks, teals, greens and whites, replaced dull backsplash with handcrafted teal mermaid tail tiles that are amazing with my swirled brown granite, wraparound almond cabinets with pin/gold/ivory ceramic pulls ( Etsy ), blush velvet stools/chairs/oversized Anthro floral teal sofa in large dinette. Peacock chaise sofa in velvet faces an Anthro CURVED sofa in emerald green/teal velvet/linen with avairety of chips in different styles. My bedroom is a boudoir of watercolor magnolia blossoms in pink, green butter yellow and border in a lace/rose design which reminds me of my Tias' dollies.…

Such creative design! Where do you find all your fabulous chinoiserie? I have been searching for "reasonably" priced orange or coral pieces. Any suggestions? (LOVE your orange foo dog!!)

Amazing!! Thank you for sharing! I think I need a bow making tutorial from you. Do you use wired ribbon? Every single detail is incredible.
